The Swiss national team, a familiar face at football's biggest stage, has announced its 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup. Manager Murat Yakin has placed his trust in experience, with 17 players returning from the squad that competed at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Leading the charge will be the seasoned duo of Granit Xhaka and Ricardo Rodriguez. Both players, stalwarts of Swiss football, are set to appear in their fourth World Cup, equalling the record held by Swiss legends Xherdan Shaqiri and Valon Behrami.

Several other key players will mark their third World Cup appearance, having been part of the squads in 2018 and 2022. Among them are Manuel Akanji, Breel Embolo, Nico Elvedi, Remo Freuler, and Denis Zakaria, all of whom remain integral to the team's core.

Switzerland's group stage opponents include Qatar, Bosnia, and Canada. Ahead of the tournament, the team will hold a training camp in St. Gallen before departing for the United States in early June.
