Kaiky could have been a Barca player. The Almeria player recently admitted that he was on Barcelona's agenda. "He was interested in me, I don't hold a grudge," he said after being left out of Xavi's plans.

'Sport' suggests that he could still have the option of playing for FC Barcelona. The club, who was rejected by Almeria for the defender, still has his name on their radar.

According to the Catalan newspaper, the board is keeping a close eye on Kaiky. The club's sporting management believe he could be a good fit for the club in the medium term.

For the moment, he is adapting to La Liga. At Barça he is liked for his speed and courage. He has a profile that attracts (and a lot) to the 'Cules'.

Barça already tried to sign him last summer. The club met with Kaiky's agents in Miami, taking advantage of the fact that he was in the United States during the summer tour. They tried to get a preferential option for the centre-back with a fixed figure. Almeria rejected any possibility, as they did not want to see their player tied to any other team.

Several months have passed since then, but the Catalan giants have not deleted Kaiky from their shortlist. And now that Pique has retired, who knows if the board will make a move for the 18-year-old defender.
