This Friday, November 7th, the Spanish national team squad was revealed for this month's matches against Georgia and Turkey, both of which are part of the UEFA qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Luis de la Fuente has selected 26 players for the clashes taking place on Saturday the 15th and Tuesday the 18th of this month.

The list is headlined by Lamine Yamal, who has already featured prominently in recent squads. Firstly, for picking up a knock during one of the international breaks, which caused friction between the national team and FC Barcelona. Secondly, in the previous squad, for receiving the call-up and then being withdrawn shortly after due to his physical condition.

A notable inclusion is Pablo Fornals, who has earned the coach's trust after a strong start to the season with Betis. Similarly, Borja Iglesias is back in the fold, this time from the start, having come in as an emergency replacement in the previous squad.

The most significant absentees are undoubtedly Pedri, who was recently sidelined with a distal hamstring tear in his left leg, and Nico Williams, who is still struggling with pubalgia. Other players missing out due to fitness concerns include Carvajal and Le Normand.

The Spanish national team faces Georgia (away) and Turkey (at home, in the Estadio de La Cartuja) in their quest for a ticket to the next World Cup. 'La Roja' has a perfect record of 12 points from 12 possible after four matches and holds a three-point lead over the Turkish side, the only team that could catch them. A win against Georgia in the fifth match would secure automatic qualification if Turkey fails to win, while even a draw could be enough in the first match if the Ottomans lose. If the Turks win, qualification will be decided in the direct clash on the final matchday.
