In an official statement, the club said: "Girona FC have completed the signing of goalkeeper Ruben Blanco, who joins the club as a free agent after his spell at Olympique Marseille concluded. The Galician goalkeeper, born in Mos (Pontevedra) on 25 July 1995, has signed a contract until 30 June 2026."

Blanco came through the youth ranks at Celta Vigo, making his La Liga debut at just 17 and going on to gain over a decade of professional experience.

He featured regularly in domestic and European competitions, earning a reputation as one of Spain's most promising young goalkeepers. In 2022, he moved to Ligue 1, initially on loan at Olympique Marseille before making the switch permanent for the 2023/24 season.

Known for his composure, sharp reflexes and authority in the penalty area, Blanco also excels at dealing with crosses and set-pieces. His leadership at the back and tactical understanding make him a dependable addition as Girona navigate the decisive stages of the season.
