The Egypt national team are ramping up their preparations for the upcoming World Cup. Spearheaded by talismanic captain Mohamed Salah, Hossam Hassan's side have finalised their provisional plans for the opening group stage, where they will face Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran in a bid to reach the knockout rounds.

This tournament will be the second World Cup appearance for Salah, who is expected to link up with Manchester City star Omar Marmoush in a formidable attacking duo. While individual talent remains high, this current squad prides itself on a level of collective cohesion that surpasses previous years.

Hossam Hassan has named a 27-man provisional squad and will be required to trim the list by one player before the tournament commences. That omission is expected to come from the goalkeeping department, given the manager has opted to include four shot-stoppers in his initial selection.
